Unison Foundation Concerts

In January 2011, the combined music departments of the three Ecolint campuses organized the third Unison Foundations Concert. Students who had attended the band camp performed brilliantly and FOTIS was pleased to be there to help the students during the final rehearsal and concert. Bravo to Ecolint’s excellent young performers!.

The Unison Foundation concerts were born from the legacy of the Victoria Hall music concert FOTIS organized in collaboration with Ecolint in 2008.

Concert at Victoria Hall (2008)

In March 2008 FOTIS organized a foundation wide concert at Victoria Hall with a specially commissioned music composition by Scott Stroman. The chorus and orchestra were made up of students, faculty and parents from all three campuses of Ecolint. The concert was a tremendous success and the donations received as a result of this concert allowed FOTIS to increase its student sponsorship from 3 to almost 50!

« The Foundation concert touches the heart of the school’s educational mission. Its purpose is to raise funds to enable children in other parts of the world to access the kind of education that we are able to provide for young people in Geneva. »

In May of 2010, folloing a presentation by FOTIS at the Nations campus, two year twelve students had a stand at the Kermesse and as a result of their efforts, were able to donate CHF 1,000 to FOTIS. These funds were sufficient to pay the educational costs for a girl in Tanzania and a boy in Kenya. The GIN club of Nations campus is continuing fundraising efforts my selling crepes regularly at the school during the lunch break. This is a fantastic example of the FOTIS credo, “Students Helping Students”.

A Geneva Amateur Opera Society Musical Evening was held in aid of FOTIS and raised CHF 1,500.

And ILO Staff members collected
CHF 4,500 in sponsorship during their Run For Life around ILO's gardens early summer 2007.

FOTIS is an independent Swiss association operated separately from the Foundation of the International School of Geneva.
